CLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Inuvo®, Inc. (NYSE Amex: INUV) announced today the first release of a browser extension for BargainMatch™, its comparison-shopping and cash-back website, available for download. With this new platform, it’s now easier than ever for consumers to get the best deal on a wide range of merchandise, including coupons and cash back, on items purchased from over 1,700 participating online stores.
To make users’ lives easier and simplify the shopping experience, the BargainMatch Browser Extension (http://cb.bargainmatch.com/installnow) automatically recognizes shopping behaviors and notifies users of both cash-back and coupon opportunities as users shop across the web. When a user browses to a BargainMatch-supported merchant, they receive a notification at the top of the merchant’s page showing the cash-back rate and the number of available coupons. With one mouse click, the user locks in their cash-back rate for anything they purchase.
The BargainMatch website, www.bargainmatch.com, integrated the cash-back experience in 2010 and offers users the ability to comparison shop for over five million products. Users can shop by store, by product or by coupon, knowing that in addition to finding the best price, they will earn cash back on nearly everything they buy. As users get cash back for their purchases more easily with the BargainMatch Browser Extension, Inuvo believes the product could generate upwards of $20 in revenue for each active user.
“We now allow users to earn cash back without changing their browsing habits at all,” said Loren Wilson, Inuvo’s Vice President of Search. “With clever engineering and a five-second download, we’ve eliminated the single biggest challenge for any online incentive program—that users forget to use it.”
Jeremy Chrysler, SVP of Inuvo’s Exchange, elaborated, “Other companies have built notification apps to help forgetful users, but most are either too in-your-face or too subtle; we tried to make ours just right. But we didn’t stop with just store notifications. We wanted to make it easier for users to find those supported merchants, so we built something totally new—we built cash back and coupons directly into the major search engines.”
Chrysler is discussing the BargainMatch Extension’s search capability. When a user performs a search on their favorite search engine, the extension scans the results and within milliseconds, highlights the supported merchant listings, showing both the cash-back rates and active coupon codes. The search for “Kidkraft sandboxes” in any of the major search engines, for example, displays BargainMatch cash back on more than half the top ten merchants returned. When users click through to the highlighted merchants, they’re taken directly to the proper page, locking in their cash back automatically en route.
The BargainMatch shopping experience is offered as a private-label loyalty program for Inuvo Partners, who will soon be able to implement their own branded versions of the BargainMatch Browser Extension to broaden distribution.
The BargainMatch Browser Extension and the BargainMatch website are free for consumer use. The browser extension is currently available for Mozilla Firefox with a planned launch for Internet Explorer® July 28. A Google Chrome version will follow.
